Thermo Fans

We supply a variety of products relating to engine cooling (including temp senders, temp switches & controllers).
These components come in a variety of manufacturers including OEM, Davies Craig, Jaylec & OEX. Listed below are a few of the more common fans we use.

AU Falcon Thermo Fan

This unit is a direct replacement thermatic fan assembly for AU Ford Falcons. This is also the most popular choice of fan for people modifying or upgrading their street car. Will fit most older falcons, but should be measured to see if it will fit before purchasing. Modification to vehicle or fans may be required to fit to some vehicles (except AU Falcon).
Note: When fitting this unit on an older car, cutting off the top lip and flipping it upside down can make installing it easier and neater.

EF8002

VT/VX Commodore Thermo Fan

This unit is a direct replacement thermatic fan assembly for a V6 Holden VT Commodore (from Chassis number  L453312 on, for vehicle with chassis number before use part number EF1186) and all VX V6. This is also a popular choice of fan for people modifying or upgrading their street car. Will fit some other vehicles, but once again should be measured to see if it will fit before purchasing. Modification to vehicle or fans may be required to fit to some vehicles. This fan has a lot of extra plastic that can be cut off if modifying it to fit an older vehicle. These are a little bit bulkier than the AU fans.

Jaylec Fan Range

The Jaylec thermo fan range is a great entry level fan. These can be used for either condenser or radiator fans. They come in a variety of sizes (10,12,14 &16"), are reversible and come in at an affordable price. They come complete with 12vfan, mounts and universal harness for the D.I.Y inclined.

Fan Controllers/Switches

There are a large range of thermo fan switches and controllers on the market. We have listed below the most common 3 units we like to use, plus 2 digital units.

Our preference is to use a pre-set thermo fan switch as it is a set-and-forget setup. This can keep the wiring very neat and simple. This is only useful when there is a blank in the manifold or if you are adding a bung into your radiator. We list 2 imperial threaded units below, but there are several metric versions also. You will need an adaptor bush and on some applications this bush needs to be modified to suit. (Note: When using a thermo fan switch on a Holden 253/308 V8 manifold, a modified adaptor is required as the manifold is 1/2" 14NPT thread and the switch is 3/8 BSP thread).

One of the easiest DIY setups is the Davies Craig 0401 as listed below.  It can be hidden in some applications.

We also can supply you with digital units for the DIY inclined. These, in our opinion, can be a little bulky when keeping an engine bay tidy.

Tridon Thermo Fan Switch (TFS110)

This switch can be fitted into the radiator or in the inletmanifold. Generally this is fitted into the radiator as the temperature is lower but can be fitted into the manifold if you are wanting the fan to cut in alotearlier.

  • Single wire hookup
  • Normally open
  • 3/8 Gas (BSP) thread
  • On 85, off 80 degrees

Tridon Thermo Fan Switch (TFS111)

This switch can be fitted into an inlet manifold or radiator. This is more suited to the manifold as the temperature is higher. Some people opt for the above unit as the fan will come on at a lower temperature.

  • Single wire hookup
  • Normally open
  • 3/8 Gas (BSP) thread
  • On 95, off 90 degrees

Davies Craig Thermo Fan Controller (0401)

This unit is easy to fit and has manualadjustability via a simple dial. This unit fits into the radiator hose and seals by using the rubber sleeve provided.

Comes with;

  • Mounting Bracket
  • Adjustable Controller
  • Dial Knob
  • Rubber Sleeve
  • Some wiring provided

Davies Craig Digital Thermo Fan Controller (0444)

This unit is for the DIY inclined. Easy to fit and has built in relays. It can control 2 fans and also can be used to switch the fans on when the car's airconditioning is switchedon.

The "switch on" temperature is user adjustable. This is set via the digital readout.

This temperature probe does not go into the coolant, just simply slides into the fins of your radiator.

Comes with;

  • Digital Controller
  • Mounting Kit
  • Terminals
  • Instruction Manual

Davies Craig Premium Digital Thermo Fan Controller (0455)

This unit is again for the DIY inclined. This unit can control 2 fans, can switch the fans on with the car'sairconditioning and also adds the ability to control a electric water pump. This controller can be mounted inside the vehicle (possibly in the glovebox) to keep your installation neat.

The unit has a wiring harness with external relays to neaten the wiring harness. The temperature probe on this unit again does not go into the coolant, just simply slides into the fins of your radiator. It also has user adjustability via the digital readout as well as fault indication.

Comes with;

  • Digital Controller
  • Wiring harnesses
  • Mounting kit
  • Terminals
  • Instruction Manual
